Founded in 2003, Travel Art Dance Company brings together dancers from a range of dance and movement backgrounds, with the motivation behind the group being the combination of choreographed and improvised dance in a performance context. The experience of the dancers in the group ranges from contemporary dance, classical ballet, improvisation and creative dance to yoga, gymnastics, circus and martial arts. TADC performances combine a variety of choreographic approaches, reflecting the rich and diverse movement backgrounds both of the choreographers and of the individual dancers in the group.
CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS
Subject to availability around the company’s own performing schedule, TADC conducts workshops for performing artists, schools and community groups. Please contact us for more information.
Artistic Director Meah Velik-Lord also teaches regular creative movement classes for adults. Suitable for beginners as well as more experienced dancers, these classes incorporate elements of solo, small group and ensemble work, and make use of music and props to broaden, challenge and extend the individual’s creativity and vocabulary of physical expression. Classes have a strong focus on aesthetic as well as physical exploration, and are designed for anyone wanting to develop and refine their own movement style or broaden their experience with movement-based improvisation. For current term dates see Classes, or for more information please contact us.
