Founded in 2003, Travel Art Dance Company brings together dancers from a range of dance and movement backgrounds, with the motivation behind the group being the combination of choreographed and improvised dance in a performance context.

The experience of the dancers in the group ranges from contemporary dance, classical ballet, improvisation and creative dance to yoga, gymnastics, acrobalance, circus skills and martial arts. TADC performances combine a variety of choreographic approaches, reflecting the rich and diverse movement backgrounds both of the choreographers and of the individual dancers in the group.

TADC productions showcase the strength, versatility and energy of the company’s performers, and the fluid connections made between improvised and choreographed movement on stage. Performances typically also incorporate acrobatic and theatrical elements, which merge with dance movement to add to the rich visual spectacle of the work.

The range of approaches utilised and the ways in which these are combined creates performance works that are conceptually interesting, as well as exciting, dynamic, beautiful and visually engaging.
