Stephanie started dancing at a very young age, never enduring being still, especially while music was playing. She grew up dancing to her mother’s records and anywhere music was playing, including supermarkets. Her parents were not surprised when she didn’t like ballet – after one very short class - and thoughtfully enrolled her in a modern dance class, which she loved. As a teenager Stephanie trained in modern dance and modern jazz at the Essendon Danse Academy and completed teacher training, allowing her to work with younger dancers. She loved the challenge of creating new choreography and working with music and movement. Stephanie has always enjoyed performing and has been a member of the Young Australian Broadway Chorus, the Victoria Youth Theatre and St Martin’s Youth Arts. Stephanie’s first experience of contemporary dance came when she joined Travel Art Dance Company in 2011. She loves the creativity, connection and intensity of performing with Travel Art and finds it both rewarding and exhilarating.
